Users need to have one or more security roles assigned to them in order to perform any ChainLinx functions.
Note: To assign a role to a user, the security role and the user record should both already exist in ChainLinx.
Access the Roles
In the Quicklist, click either the Admin link or the plus (+) sign next to it to expand the Admin section, if necessary. Click on the Role Users link to access the Role Users screen.
Assign a Role to a User
To assign a role to one or more users, first click on the Role Users icon associated with the role in the list under Site Roles.
Clicking on the Role Users icon for a specific role will move the Site Roles to the left side of the screen and add a list of active users to a column on the right side. The name of the role to which users are being assigned will appear at the top of the column on the right (1). Place a checkmark in the checkbox (2) for each user to be assigned to this particular role.
When finished assigning users to this role, click the OK button. Click Cancel to cancel the activity and return to the full Role Users screen without making changes.
The user(s) will be assigned to the role the next time they log into the application.
Unassign/Remove a Role from a User
To unassign (remove) a role from one or more users, first click on the Role Users icon associated with the role in the list under Site Roles on the Role Users screen..
Remove the checkmark from the checkbox next to the user's name in the list. Click OK when finished. The user will be unassigned from the role the next time he or she logs into the application.
